Constable calls for patience whilst road network is improved
The Constable of St Helier, Simon Crowcroft, is asking Islanders for their patience whilst important repairs and improvements are carried out on a number of roads around St Helier.
The Parish of St Helier is aware that the combined impact of Parish and Government road works is affecting people as they visit or drive around the Island’s capital.
Unfortunately, lots of these works are happening at the same time – this is largely to avoid the busier summer months and the worst of the winter weather.
Storm Ciarán has also led to several sets of emergency works having to be carried out at short notice, which has understandably added to the frustration.
Mr Crowcroft said: “Whilst I understand the frustrations, it is important that these works are carried out. Many of the improvements are taking place directly in response to parishioners’ needs and I am hopeful that by late spring Peter Street, Cleveland Road, Halkett Street, Seale Street, Charles Street and those being worked on by the Government will all have been given the improvements they need.”
