Town Takeover

The Town Takeover has brought Battle to the Town Centre this summer.
Businesses were given the opportunity to apply for funding from the Government of Jersey to transform their shopfronts into floral masterpieces based on the themes of this year’s Battle of Flowers entries.
A total of 20 businesses across various industries, including hospitality, retail, charity, and community, were awarded funding to transform their shopfronts.
The displays will be in place until Sunday 13th September, and will feature elements of the floats after the parades on 14th and 15th August.

Beresford House (Beresford Street) – Paddington Bear

The Battle of Flowers welcomes one of its most endearing centrepieces this year with a vibrant floral tribute to Paddington Bear, proudly positioned on the grand entrance steps of Beresford House, 8 Beresford Street, St Helier. Crafted with meticulous detail, the display transforms the beloved storybook character into a three‑dimensional tapestry of colour, texture, and charm. Layers of vibrant faux flowers recreate Paddington’s surroundings while highlighting his iconic blue duffle coat and bright red hat, with carefully enhanced features — from his luggage tag to the soft outline of his face — bringing a warm, expressive personality to the design.
Drawing inspiration from the national affection Paddington has inspired in recent years, the exhibit blends nostalgia with technical artistry. Florist Claire of Eden has selected a vivid palette of high‑quality blooms to achieve striking colour accuracy and durability, ensuring the bear remains a standout presence throughout the display period.
Whimsical, recognisable, and crafted with exceptional skill, the Paddington Bear floral display promises to be one of St Helier’s most photographed and talked‑about creations during the Battle of Flowers — a joyful celebration of storytelling, craftsmanship and cultural iconography.
Blakes Bistro (King Street) – Roaring 20s (1920s Party)

Blakes invites visitors to step into the glamour of a Roaring 20s Summer Soirée, where Art Deco elegance meets the beauty of a luxurious summer garden. Our entrance and terrace will be transformed with abundant floral installations featuring hydrangeas, roses, blossoms and delphiniums in soft whites, raspberry pinks and rich aubergine tones, complemented by lush greenery.
Gold palm leaves, cascading pearl garlands, elegant white feathers and vintage-inspired lanterns will create a sophisticated Riviera atmosphere, enhanced by warm festoon lighting and classic Art Deco styling. Designed as a welcoming and immersive experience, our display offers a beautiful photo opportunity before guests step inside to enjoy our seasonal food and handcrafted cocktails, celebrating the timeless elegance and vibrant spirit of the 1920s.

Cucina (York Street) – Carnaval

Cucina invites visitors to experience the vibrant spirit of La Dolce Vita Carnival, a colourful Italian-inspired celebration bringing the charm and energy of Mediterranean street festivals to the heart of St Helier. Our entrance will be transformed with abundant summer floral installations, lush artificial planting and vibrant seasonal colours, creating a warm and welcoming carnival atmosphere.
Inspired by the elegance of Venice and the joy of Italian summer celebrations, the display will feature decorative Venetian masks, Mediterranean styling and warm festoon lighting. Oversized carnival bead garlands woven throughout the design will add texture, movement and a playful festive touch, evoking the lively atmosphere of a traditional Italian carnival.
Designed as an eye-catching and immersive experience, our display offers a wonderful photo opportunity before guests step inside to enjoy freshly brewed coffee and a selection of authentic Italian snacks. We look forward to sharing a taste of Italy and the spirit of La Dolce Vita with visitors throughout the Town Takeover.
Broadlands ( Library Place) – Surfs Up

Broadlands’ “Surf’s Up” display has been inspired by our genuine passion for Jersey’s coastal lifestyle and our long-standing support of the local surfing community. Many of our directors and team members are keen surfers themselves, spending their free time enjoying Jersey’s incredible beaches and coastline. This made the “Surf’s Up” theme a natural choice for us, allowing us to create something that authentically reflects both our business and the island we call home.
The installation features a coastal-inspired design using flowers in blue and white tones and bamboo elements to reflect Jersey’s sea and surf culture. It creates an immersive, interactive experience that encourages visitors to take photos and share them, bringing energy to St Helier during Town Takeover, with sustainability at its core.
Beresford Street Kitchen (Beresford Street) – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

We are a charity and social enterprise dedicated to supporting people with learning disabilities and autistic people to develop the skills, confidence, and opportunities they need to live the lives they choose. Through our education and training programmes, individuals gain practical, real-world experience that helps them move towards greater independence and, if desired, employment.
Our social enterprises – a welcoming café, a professional catering service, and a creative print works – allow people to put the skills they have learnt into practice, build confidence, and showcase their talents.
We are excited to be taking part in the Town Takeover with a fun floral display inspired by the much-loved story, The Hungry Caterpillar. This playful and colourful theme celebrates growth, transformation, and potential – values at the heart of everything we do. We invite you to visit us, enjoy our display, and support our work in creating meaningful opportunities for everyone.
De Gruchy (King Street) – Surf’s Up

For this year’s Town Takeover, our display is inspired by the “Surf’s Up – Tiki Beach Hut” by St Saviour Battle of Flowers theme. We wanted to create a bold, tropical entrance installation that feels fun, colourful and full of summer energy.
Using tiki-inspired patterns, carved-style heads, tropical foliage, palms and natural textures, the display transforms the store entrance into a playful island-style feature for visitors to enjoy. The aim is to create something eye-catching from the street, while celebrating the creativity and atmosphere of Battle of Flowers in the heart of town.
We’re excited to be part of the Town Takeover and to help bring colour, theatre and a touch of tropical escapism to St Helier this summer.
Flour (Colomberie) – Soda Pop (K-Pop Demon Hunters)

Our brand vibes at flour are colour popping pastels and the overall feel of our cafe is a fun and cutesy atmosphere with trendy food and drinks which is why we have chosen the “Soda pop” theme this year.
We have collaborated with Eden by Claire to create an exterior and interior window display featuring an eye catching array of bright pastel florals and iridescent balls (to represent the fizzy element of the soda drinks). At flour we’re all about fun cakes and so we couldn’t resist creating some “long life” dummy cakes to match the theme. This allowed us to continue the display inside the shop and use the exterior display as a frame for the interior cake display. To keep this all integrated we have created some smaller “mini cakes’ decorated with little iridescent bubbles and have woven them into the suspended window arc. This display has been comprised of many different elements many involving lots of time and expertise and we hope you love it as much as we do!
The Jersey Gaming Hub (Halkett Place) – Lilo and Stitch

The Jersey Gaming Hub are embracing our inner child, with a stitch themed window display.
Come and pose with stitch as he enjoys an Haiwian beach day, giant flowers frame the display, look closer and you will find that stitch is hiding everywhere.
Can you find them and be in with a chance to win your own a giant stitch.

Harriet & Rose (King Street) – Diwali Festival of Lights

Harriet & Rose are delighted to be bringing Diwali – Festival Of Lights – to St Helier! Partnering in with the Parishes of Grouville & St Helier (our management team live in St Helier and Grouville, so this was a no brainer!!!), as a proudly ‘maximalist’ shop, what we do well is colour! That, and harnessing the joy, multi- culturalism, light, colour and community – everything that Diwali incorporates.
Ink Habit (Beresford Street) – Mwituni Jungle

We (the InkHabit Team) are so hyped to have teamed up with the Mwituni Jungle Float by Friends of Galaad to bring this year’s Town Takeover to life!
As an eco-conscious tattoo and piercing studio, we’re passionate about supporting projects that celebrate nature, sustainability, and our local community, so this collaboration felt like the perfect fit for us!
Inspired by animal ‘ink-stincts’, we’ve brought a (not so little) piece of the jungle into our shop window to show the team’s love and appreciation for the natural world and all the creatures in it – big and small!
Be sure to stop by, take a peak, and immerse yourself in the jungle! We hope it makes you smile, sparks a little curiousity and reminds you how creative and amazing our natural world is. Thanks for being a part of this with us!
Jade garden (Market Street) – Essence of the Orient

For 34 years, Manchi and her team have proudly shared the flavours and traditions of Chinese cuisine with the people of Jersey. This year, Jade Garden welcomes you to celebrate the Essence of the Orient. Our display celebrates the beauty and symbolism of The Orient, rich in colour, texture, and local artistry, brought to you by our neighbour Claire at Eden by Claire.
We are so proud to be taking part in this year’s Town Take Over and hope our display brings colour, enjoyment and elegance to Market Street, celebrating the creativity and community spirit that makes the Battle of Flowers so special.
Jersey Skin (The Parade) – Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Our floral display is inspired by the much-loved story of Mary Poppins and celebrates the magic, colour, and imagination of this timeless classic.
The window design features a whimsical cherry blossom tree representing Cherry Tree Lane, where the Banks family live, alongside detailed Edwardian town houses complete with glowing windows and real fabric curtains. Across the rooftops, dancing chimney sweeps bring the scene to life as they “Step in Time”, capturing the energy and charm of the story. In the background, we have recreated the London skyline as it would have appeared during the Edwardian era, providing the perfect backdrop as Mary Poppins soars gracefully across the display using a bespoke cable car mechanism, adding a striking sense of movement and enchantment.
The exterior of the shop extends the theme into a vibrant floral installation in red, white and blue, reflecting the British roots of the story and paying tribute to author P. L. Travers. The front of the shop also features Mr Banks’ iconic hat, the famous kite, and memorable quotes from the musical film, helping to immerse visitors in the magical world of Mary Poppins.
Along the base of the window, hand-painted illustrations by Jane Martin, inspired by Jersey life and scenery, complement the display. These have been enhanced with 3D-printed decorative elements created by local company Physibles.
Additional playful details include a robin feathering his nest, a “spoonful of sugar” motif, dancing penguins, and hand-decorated lettering spelling out “SUPERCALIFRAGILISTICEXPIALIDOCIOUS”, bringing together a joyful and immersive celebration of Mary Poppins in the heart of St. Helier.
La Lilou Boutique (Bath Street) – Paddington Bear

Here at La Lilou Boutique, we chose a Paddington Bear theme as Ralph Lauren’s beautiful Bear collection perfectly inspired our window display. Featuring Paddington toys and iconic London landmarks, including Big Ben, classic red bus, red post box and Paddington’s famous suitcase, the display captures the charm and nostalgia of this much-loved character. The standout feature is a stunning installation of oversized handcrafted butterflies, individually created by the talented Svitlana of Muse More than Flowers, appearing to flutter across the shopfront, windows and upper façade. We hope our display brings joy to visitors of all ages while celebrating the colourful spirit of Jersey’s Battle of Flowers.
Pebble (Charing Cross) – Brave

This summer, Pebble Home and Lifestyle want to bring the Scottish wilderness to life by bringing blooms from the Scottish Highlands to create a whimsical display.
The Brave Float collaboration is a celebration of bravery strength and natural beauty, reflecting both the brave story and Pebbles core aesthetic. Pebble is proud to be a female run business, and we want the warm palette of the shop front to reflect these deep roots. As interior designers, faux plants are a key design tool to transform spaces into stories.
Rainbow Hair Salon (Bath Street) – Diwali Festival of Lights

Rainbow Hair & Beauty Salon is here to bring the light and flowers to town with the St. Helier theme Diwali! Our lanterns are made from recycled bottles and we have origami flowers in our baskets of flowers. In our lanterns we have tea light that are more visible at night (including our fairy lights surrounding the salon)! Come by day or night to see our display!
Rivoli Jewellers (King Street) – Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious

Rivoli Jewellers, the local family-owned jeweller based under its famous clock on King Street, is bringing quintessential English charm to this year’s Battle of Flowers with a Mary Poppins-themed display, created in collaboration with Eden by Claire.
The concept, “An English Country Garden in Full Bloom,” transforms Rivoli’s doorway and frontage into a lush, theatrical floral installation inspired by the film’s idyllic countryside scenes, as if Mary Poppins herself has just stepped through. Sustainable faux blooms from Eden by Claire’s Eco Range, including lavender, English roses, cascading blossom, lupins, peonies, butterflies and perched birds, will frame the entrance with a riot of colour and texture.
The signature feature is a series of suspended lace parasols echoing Mary Poppins’ famous umbrella. A rigid ribbon weaves through the display featuring the word “Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious,” creating an instant, playful focal point and photo opportunity for passers-by. Candy-stripe accents tie the display back to Rivoli’s own branding, keeping it distinctly recognisable as Rivoli even while embracing the theme.
Romerils (Dumaresq Street) – Shaun the Sheep

This summer, Romerils is bringing the Mossy Bottom Farm to Pitt Street. As official sponsors of Adrian & Friends’ Shaun the Sheep float for the 2026 Battle of Flowers, we’ve transformed our frontage into an immersive, wisteria-draped, sheep-dotted installation.
Follow the trail from grazing sheep to hidden Shaun plushies tucked throughout all our windows, each one styled around wool, sustainability and craftsmanship, from Little Beau Sheep laundry accessories, to the Dulux Sheep Dog, to luxury woollen carpets.
It’s playful, it’s photogenic, and it’s made to be discovered. Count the sheep for your chance to win a £250 gift card, and help us welcome the flock to town.
Santander Work Cafe (Charing Cross) – The Very Hungry Caterpillar

To celebrate this year’s Battle of Flowers, Santander Work Café has created a colourful floral display above its entrance arch, inspired by the Parish of Grouville’s float theme, The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The theme was chosen because it is bright, family-friendly and instantly recognisable, while also reflecting ideas of growth, transformation and creativity. These are qualities that align well with Santander Work Café as a welcoming community space in the heart of St Helier.
Created by Clara Barthorp from Wilde Thyme, the display brings the much-loved children’s book to life through a bold caterpillar installation above the Work Café doorway. The design features green hydrangeas, ficus leaves, red roses, alliums, moss, tulips and delphiniums, with butterflies included to symbolise the Hungry Caterpillar’s metamorphosis.
Willow & Alma Sana (Beresford Street) – Mwituni Jungle

Our display is inspired by the Mwituni (Jungle) float from Friends of Galaad. The idea is simple: nature has taken over. The shopfront becomes an immersive, overgrown sanctuary, wild and alive, as though the jungle crept in overnight.
It’s a natural extension of what WILLOW and Alma Sana stand for. The jungle represents untouched nature, the raw source from which all great fragrance and holistic wellness are born.
A layered, textured world of lush greenery, vivid tropical blooms, and natural materials, set against a rich palette of deep greens, warm barks, and bursts of blush and coral. Wild, imperfect, and alive, as though you have stumbled upon something ancient and undisturbed.
