Storm Austen: Refuse collections rescheduled

The Parish of St Helier is advising residents that refuse collections scheduled for Friday 23 October will now take place on Saturday 24 October due to the severe weather conditions associated with Storm Austen.
A Red Wind Warning has been issued for the Channel Islands, with Jersey expected to experience very strong winds and gusts of up to 70-80mph.
In the interests of public safety, and to protect collection crews and residents from hazardous conditions, Friday’s refuse service has been postponed by one day.
Residents are asked to place their refuse out as normal and ensure it is ready for collection on Saturday.
The Parish is working closely with emergency services and government partners as Storm Austen approaches. A dedicated webpage is being updated regularly with the latest information on Parish service changes, closures, safety advice and key contacts and live updates can be found on the Parish’s Facebook page.
Residents are encouraged to monitor official weather and emergency service updates, take sensible precautions ahead of the storm, and check the Parish website and Facebook page for the latest information.
