St Helier and its Roads Committee offer strong support for proposed development at Romerils
At this week’s Roads Committee meeting, Constable of St Helier, Mr Simon Crowcroft, and St Helier’s Roads Committee strongly supported the proposed development of the Romerils site on Dumaresq Street.
At the meeting held on Wednesday 10th January, the Roads Committee and Constable unanimously gave their support following a presentation by officials from Romerils. The proposed plans look to provide 53 new homes whilst ensuring that 15% meet the required affordable housing criteria. The Roads Committee would have preferred the proposals to have included more car parking; however, they also acknowledged the planned parking spaces were already more than the minimum required under the recently approved Supplementary Planning Guidance for parking in St Helier.
Constable Crowcroft said, “It is important that businesses and individuals have confidence in St Helier and continue to make these types of investments. I know that the Roads Committee wanted to send a clear message of support, and believe these plans will help to regenerate this part of town.”
