Mykolaiv Day Celebrations

The Constable of St Helier, Mr Simon Crowcroft, sends his best wishes to the Parish’s newest twin town, the city of Mykolaiv in Ukraine, on its 234th birthday which was celebrated on Saturday 9 September 2023. The Parish of St Helier agreed to twin with Mykolaiv on 24th February this year.

Mr Crowcroft says he was pleased to record a video message of support for the citizens of Mykolaiv and their city on this day.

Both the citizens who remain in Mykolaiv, and those who had to leave their homes and move abroad, will celebrate their city on this holiday. The people of Mykolaiv have a strong belief in their victory and believe that the next Mykolaiv Day will be celebrated under a peaceful sky in their Soborna Square.
