Charitable grants awarded

The Parish of St Helier held its annual charitable grant reception last night.

Each year the Parish Rates Assembly decides on an amount to be designated for charitable donations. This year the total amount available for the grants was £25,000.

This was decided so that the Parish can make more meaningful contributions to local charities.

The grants are available to any charity, school, community group or any organisation situated in the Parish, who can demonstrate that the grant will benefit and enhance the lives of St Helier parishioners.

This year 15 applications were received for 3 available grants.

We are delighted to have awarded the following:

£5,000 to Jersey Brain Tumour Charity to enable them to continue offering services to new and older clients.

£10,000 to Friends of First Tower School to purchase new equipment for their playground.

£10,000 to Les Amis, Jersey to allow them to continue the work that they do.
