Storm Ciarán – Parish Update 1230 01/11/2023

The Parish of St Helier continues to prepare for the arrival of Storm Ciarán.

We will continue to provide updates here and on our social media pages from now until the end of the storm.

The Centenier nomination meeting will go ahead this evening at the Town Hall

Parking in Town

For the duration of Thursday 2 November parking in all car parks and on street parking will be free.

Town Hall closure

The Town Hall will be closed to the public on Thursday 2 November. Please only call the Town Hall if you have a storm related issue or query.

We are however available should a place of refuge or shelter be required if someone becomes displaced. To access this service please call Connor Burgher on 07700 322550.

Coastal routes closed

Given the severe weather conditions, coastal routes including Victoria Avenue and Havre des Pas are expected to close from 5.30pm onwards on Wednesday evening.

Refuse, Glass, Cardboard and Recycling

To protect the safety of our parishioners and team there will be no refuse, glass, recycling or cardboard collection on Thursday 2nd November 2023.

Refuse, glass and cardboard collections scheduled for Thursday will now take place on Saturday.

Recycling collections scheduled for Thursday will be collected on Friday.

Please do not put your bins out on Wednesday night / Thursday morning.

Advice to Parishioners

Residents, particularly those in coastal areas, are encouraged to prepare their properties for the storm. This includes securing loose items, ensuring drains and gutters are clear, and making necessary repairs to any areas that could be damaged by high winds.
