Remembrance commemorations 2023
On Thursday 9 November the Parish of St Helier hosted its annual Poppy Appeal Afternoon Tea for parishioners in the Town Hall. This year over 120 parishioners attended the event which raises money for the Royal British Legion’s Poppy Appeal.
During the event a raffle was held with prizes generously donated from local businesses which raised an incredible £650 for the cause.
We would like to thank everyone for their generous donations and to the staff at the Town Hall and the Parish’s social committee for making the event happen.
At 11am on Sunday 12 November, the Constable alongside His Excellency the Lieutenant Governor, Vice Admiral Jerry Kydd CBE, The Bailiff, Sir Timothy Le Cocq and the Chief Minister Deputy Kristina Moore took part in a service to commemorate the lives of those lost in conflict.
Wreaths were laid around the cenotaph in their memory.
The below photos were taken by the Bailiff’s Office.
