Avoid the rates surcharge

Avoid the rates surcharge and ensure that you have paid your rates by Friday, 31st October. Outstanding bills after this date will incur a 10% surcharge.

Rates demands

The rates demands were sent out on Thursday, 30th July, following the Rates Assembly, which was held on Wednesday, 16th July. A rates increase of 2.3% was agreed, in line with the cost of living.

Please be aware that chasers for rates demands are only sent digitally to those registered for Rates Online, so make sure you’ve remembered to pay.

Rates Online

Paying your rates has never been easier with the Rates Online system. Simply scan the QR code on your rates letter and enter your unique code to access the system.

Fill out your contact details and ensure the box at the bottom of the form is unclicked to allow your rates to be managed online, and all future rates correspondence will be sent to your email address.

Never miss a bill again – registered for Rates Online also means you will be sent electronic reminders if your bill is outstanding, which are not sent by post, helping you to avoid incurring late fees.

Struggling to get set up? Please pop in to see our friendly Customer Service Team in the Town Hall, who will be happy to walk you through the process.

Other ways to pay

You can pay by cash, cheque, credit or debit card by popping into the Town Hall. Regretably, Amex cards are not accepted. Payment by credit or debit card can also be accepted over the phone. Please call 01534 811811. Please make cheques payable to ‘Parish of St Helier’.

If you would like to set up a direct debit, please get in touch with Customer Services on 01534 811811 or email [email protected]. Please note that under the provisions of the Rates (Jersey) Law 2005, if you have an existing direct debit agreement with the Parish, you will still be issued with a rates bill.
